We take care of you and yours...
First Steps Day Nursery Staff...
Our Staff are highly experienced and hold recognised child care qualifications.
Members of staff have been carefully selected for their caring, friendly personalities and their affinity to young children. They aim to provide the children with imaginative activities, designed to stimulate their interest and stretch their abilities.
The partnership between staff and parents is regarded very highly at First Steps Private Day Nursery. In a multi-cultural society, our Nursery prides itself in its “awareness of others”, by taking into account families’ different religions and beliefs. Most importantly, children will not be segregated or made to feel “different”.
For each room in the Nursery, there will be a permanent member of staff, who you will get to know and will also know and understand your child’s individual needs (their allocated “Key Worker”).
Every child is allocated to a member of staff ‘the key person’, who is mainly responsible for the well-being of each child allocated to them on a daily basis, and ensures that any information about their allocated children is exchanged with the parent.
First Steps adhere to the Care and Social Services inspectorate for Wales (CSSIW) guidelines:
1 adult to 3 children under 2 years
1 adult to 4 children aged 2 years
1 adult to 8 children aged 3-8 years
We ensure that training for our staff members is kept up to date by arranging for them to attend courses e.g. First Aid, Health and Safety, Manual Handling, Food Hygiene etc. in addition to a wide variety of play work courses that encourage new ideas and activities for the children to experience.
